The New Tax Law and What Givers Need to Know

We will be gathering a small group of like-minded advisors in the Portland community to hear from Jeanne McMains, J.D., VP of Gift Planning Services at NCF. Jeanne will join by live webinar. 

Course Description: 
In this session, attendees will learn about aspects of the new tax law changes impacting philanthropy and what it means for their clients’ charitable giving. Know how changes in the tax law could influence gift planning solutions and estate planning decisions.
This session will include NCF’s unique structure for reducing taxable income as well as how the new tax law affects givers’ income taxes, capital gains and estate and gift taxes. 
Attendees will learn about how navigate the new tax law provisions while advising clients how to:

  • Maximize their charitable income tax deduction opportunities under the new tax law
  • Leverage non-cash giving opportunities to fund clients’ giving intentions
  • Incorporate charitable giving in clients’ multi-generational legacy planning

CE Classes will be held at the NCF Northwest office in Portland, 7357 SW Beveland Road, Suite 210. The luncheon presentations include Case Study Application and Q&A. CFP Credit is available.

Jeanne Lee McMains, J.D.
Vice President of Gift Planning Services, National Christian Foundation

Jeanne has been a practicing attorney in the areas of estate planning, business succession, and non-profits since 1995. After owning her own law firm and practicing with a large Midwest law firm, Jeanne currently serves as the Vice President of Gift Planning with The National Christian Foundation where she assists families nationwide with achieving their charitable gift planning goals.

Throughout her career, Jeanne has served as a featured presenter for several financial institutions including A.G. Edwards & Sons, AllianceBernstein, Fidelity Investments, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, New York Life, Northwestern Mutual, Principal Financial Group, and Ronald Blue Trust. She is also a featured speaker for numerous charitable organizations including: Alliance Defense Fund, Christian Legal Society, Christian Medical Dental Association, Compassion International, Focus on the Family, Kingdom Advisors, Pepperdine University, and the Young Life Foundation.

Jeanne obtained her law degree from Indiana University on academic scholarship and her undergraduate degree from Purdue University with highest distinction honors (summa cum laude equivalent).
